Brandon at One

I can't believe it's been a year since I did this little guy's newborn portraits.  It seems like only a few months ago.  Now he's one, and I was so excited when they asked me to do another session to capture him in all his 1-year-old glory.  We were lucky enough to get a 70 degree day in February (that's pretty rare in Indianapolis) so we headed down town to the White River State Park.  I love the architecture and textures down there.   Brandon was busy crawling and cruising, which kept this 38 weeks pregnant photographer on the move, but I didn't mind.  1-year-old portraits are so fun.

The Severinsens

I had the privilege of photographing these adorable families, all part of the Severinsen family.  They had gathered from all over for a massive family reunion (5 generations, 70 people) which I also had the privilege of photographing, (phew!). Compared to that, shooting a family this size was easy breezy.  I really did have so much fun.  It was a beautiful morning and a wonderful family.

Happy Birthday, Arabella!

I got to do a fun, 1st Birthday photography session for little miss Arabella this last weekend.  She was a doll.  We even had a smash cake for her which she delicately explored and enjoyed. Very lady-like.  It's called a SMASHCAKE, Bella!  She was quite content with her steady finger-full of frosting.   She was darling and her big sister was all giggles (and just as clean and delicate).  So much fun with these two little girls.

Love and Marriage

My brother got married in Arizona this last weekend, and although I spent most of my time chasing around an over-tired one year old, I managed to take a few photos of the reception.  It was so wonderful to see family and reconnect with all my siblings.  Weddings are such a vivid reminder of how important marriage and family really is.  I felt truly blessed to be there.

Tiny Dancer

About a month ago, Jane decided she wanted to dress like a ballerina. I did my best to piece together a frilly pink outfit for her, but I decided right there it was time to make my little girl a decent tutu. She was more than pleased and for once, obliged me a photo shoot. Well, I also gave her a lollipop. That helped.

Mornings, right?

I just love this little girl with her bed head and her cereal bowl.  This is my little Jane in the mornings.  I love photographing my kids just doing their thing and when they are both strapped into their high-chairs, well, then I have a captive photography subject.  Here's one of my son working on some Mac 'n' cheese for lunch.  I kind of love this stage of messy eating... or at least I would if I didn't have to clean it up.

The Elikers

These three little sisters make me smile.  They just radiate cuteness.  I had so much fun photographing the Eliker family being just happy and adorable in the autumn leaves.  Indiana is so gorgeous in the fall and we had the most incredible weather that day.  The leaves were all crunchy and just begging to be thrown and played in.  It was magical to capture this incredible family playing, laughing, and loving each other, which quite frankly is the best part of being a photographer.
